7TH SENSE x
RECLAIM PROJECT
Since 2019, 7th Sense have been working alongside RECLAIM Project. RECLAIM are a charity existing to support and amplify the voices of working class young people, aiming to ensure that they're seen, heard, and at the forefront of leading change. You can read more about them and the epic work they do HERE.
THE MANIFESTO
We're thrilled and mega proud to be one of the first arts organisations included in the launch of RECLAIM's 'OUR SPACE' Manifesto, challenging public places & organisations to be more open and inclusive in making their spaces accessible to the young working-class.
WHAT WE'RE DOING
-
We are, and have always been, committed to a minimum 50% working-class representation across all our shows and projects
-
We post all our jobs and castings across social media, to help remove the financial barriers of memberships to casting websites and arts job platforms
-
We're creating a Pay-it-Forward ticket scheme for our future shows, to help navigate free/affordable ticket prices where negotiating them with venues is out of our control
-
We'll work with all venues we connect with to both offer and promote the availability of subsidised tickets
-
We'll continue to run free creative workshops for working-class YP interested in the arts, and make sure these are openly advertised accross our socials and regional venues we work with
-
We'll continue to work alongside RECLAIM to promote the opportunities we have through their network, and keep checking in with young w/c people themselves on what they need from us, and what they want to see change next
IN ACTION
FOG OF WAR: A CREATIVE PROTEST (2022)
In April, we headed up to Manchester to help some 'pissed off working-class kids' at RECLAIM Bolton create a new 10 minute piece of theatre around climate change. Inspired by their anger at the older generation and a call for both generations to work together, 'FOG OF WAR: A CREATIVE PROTEST' is the result.
